Dumpling House Restaurant: Experience Authentic Chinese Dumplings in Toronto

They never disappoint you! Pan fried dumplings so juicy and crispy! My first time trying sweet sour chicken! That was amazing !!! Loved the Shanghai noodle too !!!

Good shanghai noodles, wish there was a way to add more cabbage and onion so deducted a star. Would order again! Friendly staff and fast service.

Loved the dumplings and other dishes here. We got the following: 3 choices of Steamed Dumplings (Pork, Chive & Shrimp, Pork & Sour Cabbage and Lamb Meat), 3 choices of Fried Dumplings (Pok, Beef and Pork & Shrimp), Hot & Sour Soup and Potato Noodle Salad. Everything tasted really good but my favorite was the fried dumplings.

We ordered the House Special noodles and pan fried chicken dumplings. the food tasted fresh, it was ready very quickly, and the portion was very generous. Some of the best tasting food i have eaten in toronto, will come back again. bathroom gave horror movie vibes, that’s how u know the food is gonna be good

I came in with friends for a quick evening bite. I loved the atmosphere, the restaurant is low-lit with mirrored walls and feels very nostalgic to me. The kitchen is busy and the windows are all steamed up from cooking. Overall it makes you excited to eat! We tried a few dishes but the highlight for me were the steamed dumplings with pork and sour cabbage. The dumpling dough was sooo fresh and pillowy and the filling was juicy and flavourful. Very generous portions, too! We saw lots of good-looking dishes going by to other tables so I'm looking forward to returning to try more of the menu. I recommend coming with a group so you can take advantage of the great sharing sizes!

The flavour and quality of the food alone makes this place a five star experience. We shared an order of pan-fried chicken dumplings and mushroom noodles- both were delicious. Portions are generous, you won’t leave feeling hungry. The restaurant prefers cash only, but an ATM is available inside.

Our recent visit to Dumpling House on Spadina was our first time back since the pandemic, and it brought back many memories! The food remains solid, with the same delicious flavors and authentic taste that Dumpling House has always been known for. We especially recommend the pork and chive pan-fried dumplings – they were perfectly crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. It’s definitely a must-try dish if you’re visiting. However, while the food quality hasn’t changed, the ambiance feels a bit tired. The interior could use a facelift, as it’s starting to show signs of wear and tear. A renovation to freshen up the décor and seating would not only improve the dining experience but likely draw in more customers. It would really enhance the restaurant’s appeal and help it stand out in the competitive Chinatown area. We went on a Saturday night and found it to be relatively quiet, which was surprising. Although it was nice to avoid the usual weekend crowd, we couldn’t help but feel that a more updated and inviting atmosphere could bring back some of the bustling energy that Dumpling House used to have. With a little investment in the décor and ambiance, the place could easily become a hotspot again. All in all, Dumpling House is still a good option for tasty, authentic dumplings, especially if you’re craving the classic pork and chive pan-fried dumplings. We enjoyed our meal, but we’re hoping to see some improvements in the ambiance on our next visit.

I'll refer to this place as "hole in the wall" with the utmost love and respect, in that sense that it's an inconspicuous spot with delicious food. I saw a video of Toronto chefs recommending local restaurants, and Dumpling House was one of them. My friend and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy, so we were seated right away. Service is no-frills and the atmosphere might take some off guard; however, if you can get past the fact that it's not a 5-star joint, it's so worth it because the dumplings were amazing. Hand made, freshly pan-friend, and so so delicious (we got the pork ahd chive, shrimp, and lamb). We also got the garlic cucumber salad, which was very flavorful. CASH ONLY, but they do have an ATM inside you can use. I can't wait to come back and try more of their dumplings and dishes!
